Renewable energy

Fossil fuels have been playing a crucial part in energy supply for cities, including crude oil, coal, natural gas. These are formed by decayed plants and animals expose to heat and pressure in the Earth's crust for over hundred millions of years. As they are formed by organic substances and it takes a long time for them to form, they are classified as non-renewable energy. On the other hand, another method to provide electricity is by using renewable energy, it is energy that is collected from renewable resources which are naturally replenished on a human timescale, the most commonly known renewable energy are solar power, tidal power, wind power and geothermal heat energy. In my opinion, I agree that fossil fuels cannot take the place of renewable energy. One of the reason is that renewable energy are more substainable than fossil fuels. For long-term developement, as renewable energy will not be used up, it is better for city developement compared to non-renewable ones. Mo...

Reflection journal 3

Through out this week, i felt a bit tired from tests in different subjects all at the same time. As tiredness keep stacking, I found getting out of my bed is being the most difficult thing for me to do over the week. In order to overcome this difficulty, I think I should try to manage my time in a better way, for example, try not to sleep too late due to revisions. Moreover, as I go to bed late, I cannot hear my alarm clock rings, thus to solve this problem, I ought to set more alarm clocks more frequently, as for today, I set my alarm clocks one per 5 minutes. Hopefully, this can solve my problem. :)

Health

In Hong Kong, people are always being hurry to work or go to school, therefore, fast food shops are very common. However, we all know that fast food is not good for us, it normally contains high salt, high fat and high oil, this will form bad cholesterols to block our blood vessels in our heart. In order to keep a healthy lifestyle, not only that we need to cut down on eating fast food and have balanced diet, we have to do exercise more often to keep us physically fit. Furthermore, many people in Hong Kong especially are suffering from high mental stress, thus many psychologists usually suggest that we ought to keep our mind relaxed and try not to push ourselves too hard. To keep ourselves healthy in both physical and psychological way, this is what defined as healthy in my country Hong Kong.

D uring this week, we have been attending to lessons as usual. As for the health sciences pathway that I have chosen to go on, we would need to attend physical sciences, biological sciences, biochemistry and social sciences. I feel like I have to work harder on biochemistry, it is because there are far too many reactions and process I have to memorize  and to understand them thoroughly, in order to improve that, I think I will have to work on it by doing more practice questions. The things I think I did do well is that I have got all correct on the mathematics homework!! So hopefully I would not need to attend the mathematics workshop. I hope I will gradually achieve my goal and be a better one of myself. :)

Tradition

Since I have been studying aboard, I have not been celebrating Chinese New Year with my family, thus I would like to introduce Chinese New Year, which is one of the most well-known and famous festival in the world, to all of you . People celebrate Chinese New Year by having a tremendous meal with their relatives, it is a very good opportunity for people t o reunite with their families. Elderly will give red pockets to children as a blessing to them and to wish them best luck in the coming year. In old days, people used to wear cheongsam, which is a traditional clothes, to visit their relatives. However, this tradition is fading away, people are not wearing cheongsam anymore and some even found wearing them will embarrass themselves, this causes the cultural desalination. I hope th is tradition will not disappear as this is a precious historical mark.

During early Feburary this year, while I was not yet studying in Liverpool, I have actually been here once. It is because one of my friends had an interview here in the University of Liverpool, to accompany her and also to have a chance to explore the UK, including me, a total of six of us started a trip to Liverpool for five days. The first impression that Liverpool gave me is that, it is a busy and modern city with a lot of tasty food. During these five days, we kept our mouths busy with tasting different kinds of food, such as Thai food and Japanese food, yum!! I will definitely go and eat again some days.

Furthermore, in my spare time, I like to play computer games with my friends, especially games which require teamwork and co-operation. It has been 16 years since I first learn English, for future planning, I would like to meet all the conditions and the interview and successfully progress to the occupational therapy degree in University of Liverpool.
